Infant Baptism

Mormon Doctrine states very specifically and unequivocally that infant baptism is an abomination. This is a truth that used to be stated clearly in the Bible, but was lost over time through error or the evil designs of men. The reason for this doctrine was explained by the Lord. Infants are pure and guileless. There is no reason for them to be baptized because the atonement of the Savior redeems them should they die while still in infancy or young childhood. Mormon Doctrine also states that the age of accountability is age eight. By then children have the capability and should have been taught the difference between right and wrong.
