I Had the Privilege of Delivering My Neighbor’s Eulogy

When our neighbor died last month, we were all devastated. He had been more like a favorite uncle than just the man living in the house next door. We spent time at his place, and he also frequented our supper table. As I wrote out a sample eulogy to deliver at his funeral, I was shocked by how little I actuially knew about this man. When I talked to his family, they shared parts of his life that I never would have imagined. I never knew that he had traveled the world over before settling down next door to us. I wish I had known him better while he was alive.
