Sinus Headache Explored
November 28th, 2008 by admin
A sinus headache occurs on account of the congestion of the sinuses in the head. Sinuses, the bony, air-filled cavities in the head, become congested when one suffers from cold, allergy or fever. During cold or allergy attacks, the sinuses which connect to the nose through small openings become blocked and this results in a sinus headache. The nose openings, blocked by excessive mucus, become infected and cause severe sinus headache. The headache lasts till the sinuses are free of congestion and the mucus in the nose is cleared. Sinus headaches are very stressful and affect routine life greatly. Such headaches are most common in people who are easily prone to common cold or allergy attacks.
