The costs of owning a car are more than just how much it costs when you buy it from the used Saab garage, or from the new Mercedes dealership. What really costs is all the work, fuel and general maintenance that you have to stay on top of once you have bought it. This is the fact that most weeks you will have to top up the tank with costly fuel (and argument for economical cars, without a doubt!). The fact that things will break one day and need to replaced or repaired. And, of course, other bits and pieces!
